Chemical Reactions

We are all Scientists!

We used baking soda, vinegar and food colouring to create a chemical reaction.

We started off by talking about what might happen when we put the baking soda into the vinegar.

We thought it would need to be mixed and it might pour out.

We used the words on the core board to help us understand the experiment and to talk about what is happening.

We smelt the vinegar …  It smelt disgusting!

We poured the vinegar into the cup and Summer helped to pour in the baking soda.

We didn’t know what was going to happen …

The vinegar and baking soda created a chemical reaction.  The mixture started to bubble and rise!

  2. Wow! 9A scientists, what a great experiment you have all done. I like how you all have smelt the experiment and said "that it was disgusting" because that shows me that I wouldn't want to smell it. I would have loved to see the chemical reaction with you though. Wohoo!
